Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, today took out an awareness rally on “Nasha Mukt Bharat” under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Shikshit Bharat Abhiyan.The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal of the College, Prof. Hans Raj.

The Principal of the College said that the purpose of the rally was to draw the attention of the stakeholders towards the grave issue of increasing drug addiction among the youngsters. “The objective was to raise awareness among the students and general masses about the serious issues and hazardous impacts caused due to drug abuse,” he added.

The rally was flagged off from the college campus by the Principal. The students proceeded with slogans through the adjacent market of Neeli Nallah. A large number of students participated in the rally. In the rally, students raised slogans depicting the message of coming together to fight against substance abuse. 

The students also interacted with the general masses to inform them regarding the health issues related to drug misuse.Prof. Swati Dutt, Dr. Ranjeeta Langhey and  Manisha Kanchru were the members of the organizing committee. Dr. Renu Gupta, Dr. Parul Chhibber,   Shallu Jamoria and Imtiyaz Ahmad Batti also accompanied the rally.
