Social Welfare Department Kishtwar in Collaboration with Artificial Limbs Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a public sector enterprises functioning under the control of Ministry of Social.Justice and Empowerment Govt of India today organised a Distribution camp under Assistance to Disabled Persons
(ADIP) scheme here at Chatroo under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed Lone and under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav.In the said event different aids and appliances were distributed among 53 beneficiaries which includes the Tricycles, Wheelchairs Adult and small, CP Chair, Hearing Aid, MSIED kit, Smart Cane, Daisy Players, Braille
Kit, Crutches Walking Sticks Rolator Callipers, Below elbow prosthesis, below knee prosthesis etc. in presence of DDC Counselor Chatroo Mtr. Rubeena Begum,visiting officer B2V4 Panchayat Lower Chatroo A and Lower Chatroo B Block Chatroo,Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Chatroo,Sarpanch panchayat Lower Chatroo- A, Lower Chatroo - B andstaff of Social Welfare Department and other line Departments besides scores of prominent persons of the area including Sarpanches, Panches of other Panchayats of Block Chatroo also marked their footfall presence on the occasion.
The main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons by providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern standard aids and appliances to promote physical social, psychological rehabilitation of persons with disabilities by reducing the effects of disabilities and at the same time enhance their economic potential.
Assistive devices were given to persons with Disabilities (PwDs) with an aim to improve their independent functioning and to arrest the extent of disability and occurrence of secondary disability.Awareness regarding registration for issuance of Age Certificate, registration of PwD voters for issuance of EPIC cards, registration for UDID cards, Elder line and other welfare schemes run by the Social Welfare Department was also imparted to Senior citizens.
