Social Welfare Department, in Collaboration with Artificial Limbs Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a public sector enterprises functioning under the control of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India, today organised a prosthetic aid distribution camp under Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) scheme here at Mugalmaidan.
The camp was held under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahmed Lone and under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav.Different aids and appliances were distributed among 118 beneficiaries which includes the Tricycles, Wheelchairs Adult and small, CP Chair, Hearing Aid, MSIED kit, Smart Cane, Daisy Players, Braille Kit, Crutches Walking Sticks Rolator Callipers etc in presence of visiting officer B2V4 Panchayat Sigdi B2 Block Mugalmaidan, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Chatroo, Sarpanch Panchayat Sigdi B2 and staff of Social Welfare Department and other line Departments, besides scores of prominent persons of the area including Sarpanches, Panches of adjoining Panchayats of Block Mugalmaidan also marked their presence on the occasion.
The main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons by providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern standard aids and appliances to promote physical social, psychological rehabilitation of persons with disabilities by reducing the effects of disabilities and at the same time enhance their economic potential.
Assistive devices were given to persons with Disabilities (PwDs) with an aim to improve their independent functioning and to arrest the extent of disability and occurrence of secondary disability.Besides, distribution of Prosthetic aid awareness was also provided to Senior citizens regarding registration for issuance of Age Certificate, registration of PWD voters for issuance of EPIC card, registration for UDID cards, Elder line and other welfare schemes run by the Social Welfare Department.
