In the latest match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, the latter team was an ankle away from receiving a historic win. Cricket fans and country people congratulated the team. But do you know that even before Zimbabwe's startling 1-run victory over Pakistan on Thursday, the match between the two nations was a hot topic on Twitter? It is all because of the Mr. Bean controversy. After honouring the Zimbabwe team for the historic win and congratulating them, the President added, “Next time, send the real Mr. Bean”.

Reacting to Mnangagwa's tweet, former India batsman Virender Sehwag said he had touched a nerve with his tweet on Pak Bean. He wrote, “Hahahaha… Mr President bhi mast khel gaye. Padosi ki Dukhti Rag

After Zimbabwe's president’s tweet surfaced online, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote, “We may not have the real Mr Bean, but we have real cricketing spirit .. and we Pakistanis have a funny habit of bouncing back. Mr President: Congratulations. Your team played really well today.”

These tweets have raised many eyebrows. Cricket fans have indulged in a war of words on Twitter.

What is the Mr. Bean controversy?

It began a couple of days ago, when a Zimbabwean replied to a tweet from Pakistan’s cricket board, writing, “As Zimbabweans we wont forgive you … you once gave us that Fraud Pak Bean instead of Mr Bean Rowan. we will settle the matter tomorrow just pray the rains will save you.”

After further investigation, it was discovered that Pakistan had dispatched a person dressed as Mr. Bean, or the renowned British actor Rowan Atkinson, to a local event in Zimbabwe to accuse him of taking people's money while he was there. Due to Pakistan's propensity for playing Zimbabwe in frequent interviews during the past three years, fans have also reacted to the "Fake Mr. Bean" scandal by dubbing it the biggest rivalry in international cricket.

The "Fake Mr. Bean," often referred to as the "Pak Bean," is a Pakistani comedian from Karachi's Kharadar district by the name of Mohammad Asif.
