Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Kishtwar today organised sports events in the discipline of Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Tug Of War here at zone Drabshalla under the ongoing Jan Abhiyan launched as a prelude to the fourth phase of Back to Village Programme (B2V4).

Additional Secretary Garbi Rashid was the Chief Guest and DYSSO Kishtwar K L Sharma and DYSSO Doda Jaffar Haider were the Guest Of Honour on the occasion.More than 100 youth hailing from different Panchayats of zone Drabshalla participated in the sports events in the discipline of Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Tug Of War to showcase their talent.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest threw light on the significance of Sports and Games in the life of a person, besides said that it was a great opportunity for the local Youth to showcase their talent and make it their career in the long run.

He also added that Sports can be instrumental in keeping the Youth away from the menace of drugs and other anti-social elements and appealed to the parents to encourage their children to take part in sports for a prosperous and healthy life.
