JDI PD & MD reviews progress of works under ABDP in Aspirational blocks Budhal Old, Khawas

Joint Director, Planning Development and Monitoring Department J&K, Suneel Pandita, today visited Aspirational Block Budhal Old and Khawas of district Rajouri to review the progress of the works/ activities undertaken under Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) under which Rs. 100 lakh have been sanctioned for each Aspirational Block.

Nodal officer ABDP Rajouri, Pawan Kumar was also present on the occasion. The Joint Director was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid and ACD, Vijay Kumar.During his visit to Block Headquarter Budhal (old ), the Joint Director met with the officials of the Block, public representatives and locals of Block and interacted with them.

He took stock of installation of medical equipment, procured smart class accessories, CFC, Solid liquid management plant, sanitary complexes, foot bridges, culverts etc.The Joint Director also met with the officials of the Health department, Education Department, Rural Development Department, PDD, Revenue etc who briefed  them about the progress made in this regard.

Further, he visited CHC Budhal where he inspected the medical equipment (Processor for digital X-ray, ultrasound, two cardiac monitors etc) received under ABDP.The Joint Director said that the aim of this program was to improve the socio-economic status of the population of these blocks and bring them at par with other blocks of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. 

This programme is funded by UT of Jammu and Kashmir and has been conceived on the analogy of Aspirational Block.He also apprised that out of 285 Blocks of UT, 44 Blocks have been selected under Aspirational Block Development Programme which was launched this year itself.

The JDI PD & MD reiterated that the Government was committed to the fulfillment of the basic requirement of the population living in the remotest and backward blocks. He further advised the officer/officials to complete the approved works by or before 31st March 2023 and ensure that full funds are utilized under ABDP.

The officer expressed satisfaction over the progress of work. However, he asked  the executing agency to complete the works within the shortest possible time and put  the facilities for public use.
