Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan today kick-started the construction work on the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at Gool in presence of Chairperson BDC, PRIs and prominent citizens of the area.
After formally starting the work on the WSS being constructed at a cost of Rs 506 lakh, the Chairperson congratulated the villagers for this project and appreciated them for their unified and untiring efforts in helping in getting the project approved.
She said the water supply scheme on its completion, will provide clean drinking water through tap connections to 2800 souls of three Panchayats.Directing the executing agency to ensure timely completion of the Water supply Scheme, the Chairperson asked the concerned contractor to do as much of the work as possible before the onset of winter to benefit the people at an earliest.
Exhorting the villagers to get their water connections regularized, Dr. Shan also asked them to deposit their annual water fee. She said that the Government's mission of 'Har Ghar Jal' will be accomplished with the completion of this Water Supply Scheme.
Listing the details of development projects sanctioned under various sectors for the area, the Chairpersons sought cooperation of the PRIs and locals for smooth execution of the same.
