The First ever Golf Academy in Jammu was inaugurated earlier this year by Lt. Governor Shri. Manoj Sinha at Jammu Tawi Golf course, Sidhra with a vision to promote the game of Golf and make it more accessible for the youth. 

The Management of Jammu Tawi Golf course conducted a free camp for students from various Govt. schools starting 14th September which concluded on 07th October 2022. About 20 students from across Jammu,  learned the game of Golf for 20 days.

Golf Academy training format reserves 20 days specialized training program for students aged between 8 to 18 years. The training focuses on learning of basic skills to play golf accompanied by the understanding of the rules and format of the game. 

The training is being imparted by NGAI certified coach, Rohit Gupta, at Jammu Tawi Golf Course.On this conclusion occasion, Mr. Manav Gupta, Secretary Jammu Tawi Golf Course in presence of Director, Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Subhash Chibber distributed certificates among the student trainees.

As informed by Manav Gupta, Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, “the training programme has concluded and further training of the natural talent from the current batch is being taken up in a more serious and professional manner. 

Jammu Tawi Golf Course is willing and happy to lend all possible help to budding golfers.”Director, Youth Services and Sports, Subhash Chibber also remarked that the directorate will ensure continued support to the children.
