District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) today organized a Job Fair to provide job opportunities to the youth of the district in different agencies.District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Inder Jeet inaugurated the Job Fair.  

Various departments and private Companies had established their stalls for placement of the eligible aspirants.Deputy Commissioner interacted with job providers and job seekers and advised them to adopt transparent and judicious policy to fill the vacancies. 

He lauded the effort put in by the department for arranging a meeting of job seekers and employers at one place. The DC also urged the unemployed youth to take benefit of self-employment schemes and become entrepreneurs to generate sustainable livelihood for themselves and others as well. 

“Government is committed to extend hand-holding to every eligible youth under the ambitious Mission Youth Programme” , he added.Meanwhile, Deputy Director Employment  Mohammad Rafiq informed that  around  350 educated unemployed youth were shortlisted by 7 different private companies/organisations, while 15 candidates were selected for different jobs on the spot.

The DDE informed that henceforth such Job Fairs will be organized in the district on regular intervals.Besides, Employment Officer, Rayees Iqbal representatives from line departments also spoke and provided awareness to the participants about the benefits of the Job fair and other self-employment schemes.
