The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan is committed to the welfare of farmers and uplifting their lives.Under the same objective, with the support of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, to provide information to the farmers about the latest technology about crop residues and various crops, Kuljit Singh Randhawa MLA Dera Bassi today inaugurated Kisan Mela and Exhibition organised at  Kisan Vikas Chamber, Aerocity, Block C, Airport Chowk, Mohali.

Disclosing this in a press communique official spokesperson said that MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa, while addressing the gathering of farmers in the district level Kisan Mela and Exhibition, said that farmers are the backbone of the economy of an agrarian state.  

The necessary arrangements for the purchase of paddy have been completed by the Punjab government and each grain of the paddy crop will be purchased by the Punjab government in a transparent and transparent manner and the farmers will not face any problem in the markets.

On this occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurbachan Singh said that the government is providing machines for straw management worth Rs. 5 lakh per block and Master Seeder and Super Seeder will be given on priority basis.  

These machines are being given free to small and marginal farmers.Deputy Commissioner Mr. Amit Talwar instructed the officials of the Agriculture Department to provide small agricultural implements, urea, DAP and quality seeds to the farmers and assured the farmers to take care of the damage caused by the dwarf virus to the paddy crop. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner Avneet Kaur, SDM Mohali Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur, Joint Director Agriculture Dr. Jaswant Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr. Gurbachan Singh, Deputy Director Training Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Balbir Singh Khada, besides the leaders of various farmers' organizations A large number of farmers were present.
