As a part of the special series of events being organised by Department of Higher Education, UT of J&K to commemorate the relevance of Life and Freedom struggle of Mahatma Gandhi Ji, a divisional level Poster/ Painting Competition was today organized by Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women Gandhinagar Jammu.

A total of 21 students, who were the winners of the District Level Competition held on 26th September, 2022, participated in the Divisional level Poster/ Painting Competition. The contesting students made beautiful posters on the given themes – the Life Sketch of Mahatma Gandhi, Dandi March and Quit India Movement and gave wings to their imagination and creativity.

This endeavour of students was judged by Dr. Sujata Slathia, HOD Economics of PSPS GCW Gandhinagar ; Dr. Shoba Gupta, HOD Mathematics of GDC Samba and Dr.Anuradha Gupta, HOD Zoology of GCW Parade.

Rawani Jasrotia of GLDM GDC Hiranagar; Arushi Sharma of GCOE, Jammu and Diksha Sharma of GDC Kathua clinched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Positions, respectively.Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College appreciated the hard work and creativity of participants. 

She also emphasized the importance of Gandhian thoughts and vision for enlightening the young minds to wade through these difficult times with the tools of truth and non-violence. The organising committee comprised of Convenor, Prof. Mala Bhasin, and members Dr. Anju Koul,  Prof. Suman Bala, Dr. Kusum, Dr. Ujjwal Sharma and Prof. Sunita were appreciated for their enthusiastic and laborious efforts to make this event a success.
