The visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kullu on 5th October  will be a historic moment for the state. For the first time in the history of Himachal, the Prime Minister is going to witness the historic Rath Yatra at International Kullu Dussehra. 

This shows the affection and connectivity of the Prime Minister with Himachal and its people. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while taking stock of the preparations regarding the Prime Minister's visit at Rath Maidan in Dhalpur in Kullu today.

Jai Ram Thakur said that prior to the historic Rath Yatra of International Kullu Dussehra the Prime Minister would inaugurate Rs. 1471 crore AIIMS and Hydro Engineering College at Bilaspur. Apart from this he would also lay the foundation stones of two other projects.

While expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being part of Rath Yatra, the Chief Minister said that the PM admires the rich culture of Himachal and has special attachment towards the state and its people.

The Chief Minister while Interacting with the reporters, said that the Prime Minister would inaugurate an AIIMS costing about Rs. 1471 crore and the country's second Hydro Engineering College built by spending Rs. 140 crore. 

Apart from this, the Prime Minister would also lay the foundation stone of a Medical Device Park to be constructed at Nalagarh with an expenditure of Rs. 350 crore and Pinjore Nalagarh Fourlane to be constructed with about Rs. 1692 crore. 

He said that these are the big gifts from Central Government for the state.The Chief Minister also took feedback from the district administration on the preparations for the Rath Yatra in Dhalpur and directed to make all the necessary arrangements to make this event a grand success.Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg and other officials apprised the Chief Minister about various matters pertaining to the event.

Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur, MLA Banjar Surender Shourie, former MP Maheshwar Singh, HPMC Vice Chairman Ram Singh, APMC Chairman Amar Thakur, Advisor Marketing Board Ramesh Sharma, BJP District President Bhimsen Sharma and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
