World Pharmacists' Day is celebrated every year on September 25 globally. This day is known as "World Pharmacists Day" to raise awareness of the importance of pharmaceutical institutes in our world. This day demonstrates the role of these institutions in improving health on a global level.
This Year’s Theme:
This year's World Pharmacist Day theme is “Pharmacy united in action for a healthier world” on September 25, 2022. For 2022, the theme aims to showcase pharmacy's positive impact on health around the world and to strengthen solidarity among the profession further.
It Was First Observed:
At the 2009 Council meeting of the FIP Congress in Istanbul, the TPA suggested annually celebrating World Pharmacists Day on September 25. The proposal was unanimously accepted, and the day became celebrated internationally.
World Pharmacist Day was created by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Council at the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009. September 25 is chosen as World Pharmacist Day because on this date FIP came into existence in 1912.
First Pharmacist & When It Started:
The pharmacy profession was introduced in India in the year 1932 and completed 75 years in the year 2007. The development of the pharmacy profession in India: Drug Enquiry Committee 1931: The Government of India appointed the drugs inquiry committee (1930-31) under the chairmanship of Dr. R.N. Chopra.

Importance Of Pharmacists:
We all know that pharmacists provide medicine when patients come to them. They make sure to provide them with the correct medicine and not the wrong one.
The basic duty of a pharmacist is to check prescriptions from physicians before dispensing the medication to patients to confirm that the patients don't receive the wrong drugs or take an incorrect dose of medicine.
If pharmacists couldn’t provide the right medicine, then the patient’s life could be in danger. So it is really necessary for them to be sure what medicine they are giving, with full concentration and consciousness.
