Government Degree College, Ukhral, in collaboration with District Police, Ramban organized a special lecture on the theme “Say No to Drugs”, today.Resource-persons, SDPO, N.A.Khawja and the College Principal, Dr Ashok Kumar stressed on the need to enlighten the student community about this growing menace.
He counted at length the hazards of this ever-growing tragedy.The resource person N.A. Khawja, also presented a beautiful presentation minutely describing and highlighting the usage and functioning of these drugs.
He highlighted the vices and evils associated with the use of drugs while sharing first-hand experiences.He assured the students that in the process of de-addiction, rehabilitation centres were being established in every district.
He said that it is never late to reach these contact centres where the privacy of the addicts is maintained. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Shafiq Ahmad Katoch and technical support was provided by Prof Iftikhar Hussain and Prof. Suresh Chander. The Programme was coordinated by the NSS wing of the college headed by Prof Zakir Hussain
