In 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan -2022', organized by the Sports Department to bring back Punjab's glorious sports culture and inspire youth towards healthy lifestyle, four players of the same family belonging to three different generations are participating.

Rahuldeep Singh, the District Sports Officer of Fatehgarh Sahib, who is also the organizer of the block and district level sports competitions of this event, is participating in basketball. His father, wife and son are also participating in 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan' as players.

Rahuldeep Singh is participating in the district level competitions of basketball in the age group of 21 to 40 years. His father Jarnail Singh, who is a national level volleyball player, will now compete in the district level competitions after winning in the 50+ age group volleyball competition in Sirhind-Fathigarh Sahib block.  

Rahuldeep Singh's wife Swati Chauhan is also participating in district level volleyball competitions in the age group of 21 to 40 years.Lakshdeep Singh, son of this sports couple, is participating in U-14 age group district level basketball competition.

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that this sports event was designed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to create a sports-friendly environment in the state and our main objective is to encourage every family of the state towards sports. This family of Fatehgarh Sahib is an inspiration for other families as well. 

He said that sports are means to keep our youth away from the quagmire of drugs and help them to channelise their energy in the right direction. He said that the overwhelming response to 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan' is a huge positive step towards creating 'Rangla Punjab, Khelda Punjab'.
