Government Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian Poonch organised a program on the occasion of International literacy Day in the multipurpose Hall of the school.Principal Government Polytechnic College Poonch, Engineer Vivek Kumar Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Anwar Khan, the Principal of Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian, in his welcome address spoke at length about the importance of literacy in our life and development of society.Rashmi Sudan, teacher of the institution spoke about the importance of literacy in girls and their role in the society. Students also presented patriotic and folk songs during the programme.
Addressing the students, the Chief Guest, Principal Government Polytechnic College Poonch Vivek Sharma, told them to focus on their studies and career. He briefed them about the career prospects in the Engineering field. He also explained about the eligibility criteria, admission process in engineering courses after 10th and 12th class.
Mohammad Arif Malik, thanked the guests and students for their active participation in the programme.Others who attended the programme included Firdous Anjum, Mohd Hayat Shiekh, Balbir Singh, Mohd Shafi, Mukhtar Ahmed and Parvez Khan.
