Vice Chairman DDC Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today inaugurated macadamization work on Khurhama-Wavoora and Wavoora-Gagal roads of Khumriyal-Rang road project under CRF scheme.The Vice Chairman also inaugurated macadamization work at Warnow Bala on Warnow-Khurhama and took a detailed inspection of the road.On the occasion, the Vice Chairman expressed gratitude towards LG Administration and District Administration Kupwara for ensuring equitable development of far flung areas like Lolab.
He also appreciated the efforts of R&B department including Chief Engineer, SE, Ex. Engineer and supporting staff for expediting the macadamization work before the onset of winter. The Vice Chairman stressed upon the officers to ensure complete macadamization of these roads by 15th of this month which shall provide a great relief to the commuters of Potnai Lolab.Ex. Engineer R&B, Mohammad Ramzan, AEE R&B, JEs, Works Supervisor and other concerned were present on the occasion.
Later, the VC chaired a meeting of Sarpanches at Community Information Centre Warnow to review the progress of various Rural Development schemes including 14th F.C, Soakage Pits, Amrit Sarovars, MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY, B2V and other allied schemes.
ACD Kupwara, Hilal Ahmad Mir; ACP Kupwara, Shabir Ahmad; BDC Chairperson Wavoora, Mohd Rafiq Kataria, XEN REW, AEE, BDO Wavoora and other concerned were present at the occasion.
Addressing the meeting, the VC said that under the present LG Government, Kupwara district will touch new heights of development adding that the three tier Panchayati Raj System has achieved positive results on ground in terms of development since its inception.
He said that Community Sanitary Complexes, Soakage Pits, Solid Waste Management units and other allied projects are being constructed in each panchayat halqa to ensure rural sanitation and clean villages.He directed the concerned officers for timely execution of these ambitious projects so that people of rural areas are benefitted at large.
He also discussed various issues pertaining to ADF of PRIs, holding of weekly Panchayat Secretariats. The PRIs also expressed gratitude towards the VC for sanctioning Computer Sets to every panchayat.
