Errants involved in adulterating milk and other eatables should be dealt with sternly and strictest action should be taken against them.Health department should aggressively conduct food sampling and take stern action against those found guilty, said Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Chetan Singh Jauramajra, while presiding over a meeting of district administration Barnala to review ongoing developmental works and implementation of government schemes.

He directed the health department that food sampling, especially that of milk and its products, should not only be done during festive season but round the year. He also directed heavy penalties on those selling milk and its products in an adulterated manner. Addressing the issue of "missing" agriculture implements, given on subsidy to various farmers, the Minister said that 9 percent of the total implements issued on subsidy has been found missing. 

He directed the agriculture department to take action in this regard and said that a report about it should be submitted to his office in the next 15 days.Besides this, the Minister also took strict notice of cases wherein people are taking benefit of social security pensions by tendering wrongful documents. He directed the officers to tighten noose around the Common Services Centers (CSCs) that are preparing such fabricated documents. 

Also the social security officials were directed to ensure maximum participation of people at camps for pensions so that the benefits of government schemes could percolate down at the grass root level.Deputy Commissioner Barnala Dr Harish Nayar said that Barnala has taken up onus of having a massive plantation in it and under the special plantation campaign 2 lakh saplings have already been planted. 

District sports officer said that there has been good response to the sporting event Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan in district Barnala for which 3000 players have already been registered.The Health Minister directed concerned officials to ensure that those agencies or contractors, which are working on government construction projects, should be taken to task. These agencies or contractors should be blacklisted if they don't complete work on time, use sub standard material or do not abide by government guidelines for construction.
