Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday took a dig at Jammu and Kashmir LG administration for poor water supply scenario in Jammu City and said that the Shakti of Jal Shakti Department has turned weak and the only thing Government has done for this department is changing its name from Public Health Engineering-PHE to Jal Shakti Department.

AAP addressed a press conference over it in Jammu in which party leader Amit Kapoor briefed media person about the situation and said that almost all the localities in Jammu are under a crunch of water supply with department has failed to regulate it's manpower from permanent side to ensure hassle-free water supply at a time when daily wagers are on protest.

" No one can deny from the fact that daily wagers, need based workers, land donors and other categories of unregularised employees of Jal Shakti Department are backbone of it who are real force behind working of department." AAP leader Amit Kapoor said.

He added that the ongoing agitation of these unregularised workers has shifted workload on permanent employees who however are not managing to come solid on the requirement and this all is leading to a situation in which normal life is badly affected under water crisis.

" Only two categories of people are presently getting water in Jammu and they include the families which are having their own hand pumps or financially sound families who can call a water tanker on daily basis." Kapoor said adding that all other families and business establishments in Jammu are getting water supply after a gap of four to five days and a common man is badly crushed under this water crisis in this humid season.

Extending support to ongoing agitation of unregularised workers of Jal Shakti Department, AAP leader Amit Kapoor said that all the demands of these employees are genuine and should be addressed on priority without any fail.

" But sad state of affairs is that no one from LG administration is bothering to talk to them and LG administration is on an adamant attitude where Jammu and Kashmir LG himself is not bothering to talk to agitating workers." said AAP leader Kapoor.

He also extended condolence over death of a daily wager of Jal Shakti Department who allegedly committed suicide for poor family state due to Government's apathy and Aam Aadmi Party demanded financial aid for the family of victim
