3 Days Medical Camp concludes at District Jail Baramulla

A three days Medical Camp organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Baramulla in collaboration with Government Medical College today concluded at District Jail Baramulla.The camp was organised under the Supervision of Chairman DLSA Baramulla, Mohammad Yousuf Wani and Secretary/Sub-Judge District Legal Services Authority Baramulla, Fariqa Nazir. 

The Medical Camp consisted of a Board of 04 doctors viz Dr. Yasir Bashir (Assistant Professor General Medicine), Dr. Humam Nissar (Assistant Professor General Surgery), Dr. Mubashir Rashid (Senior Resident Orthopedics) and Dr. Fayaz Ahmad (Dental Surgeon). 

On the occasion, a total of 38 inmates were examined by the medical board out of which 34 were male inmates and 04 were female inmates. All the inmates (Patients) were thoroughly examined by the aforementioned Board and necessary medicines/tests were prescribed for inmates accordingly.

Moreover, in view of rising symptoms of hepatitis-c among the jail inmates, ‘collective hepatitis-c tests’ were taken among symptomatic jail inmates (patients) of District Jail Baramulla.A team of doctors and technicians thoroughly examined the inmates and thereafter successfully conducted tests among the symptomatic jail inmates (patients).

A total of 16 symptomatic inmates (all males) were tested by the team for hepatitis-C and the samples were accordingly sent to Medical College Baramulla for report. No women inmates were found symptomatic of hepatitis-C.
