LCMA conducts demolition drive in various Srinagar areas

In its continuous drive against illegal constructions/encroachments, the Enforcement Wing of Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) today carried out a demolition drive in the areas of Braine Phaloo, Batpora, Ishber Khonun Mohalla, Hakeem Mohalla Bagwanpora Lal Bazar, Nowpora and Kanitar/Saderbal.

During the drive, illegal structures including three 2nd storeys and one 3rd storey that were under construction were demolished. Besides one wooden shed, one Shopping complex, one plinth and one shed structure was also razed to ground. Legal action was also initiated against the violators.

Meanwhile, all the public residing within the LCMA jurisdiction and in lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/ encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue demolition drives against illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments.

Besides, strict action will be taken against the violators who shall be found indulging in illegal construction activities. Also CCTV Cameras have been installed in order to curb the ferrying of illegal building material within LCMA jurisdiction.

Moreover, the locals residing in the area of LCMA are informed to apply for online building permissions through LCMA online official portal/website.
