The trailer for the Chaupal series Shahi Majra has just dropped online. Sawan Rupowali plays an investigating officer in a high-profile killing in the thriller. Yes, you read that right. The upcoming series is based on a murder mystery. And we bet that you have never seen this type of topic in Punjabi cinema or on any OTT platform. From the trailer, it has been clear that Sawan, who essays the role of SHO Gurnaz Bhullar, will be solving the mystery, and not only this, she too had some dark unresolved secrets in her life.
Directed by Prem Singh Sidhu and produced by Chaupal Studios, Shahi Majra also stars Ninja, Sanju Solanki, Anita Shabdeesh, Honey Mattu, Mandeep Mani, and many other artists. The show will begin streaming on August 12, 2022, in the Punjabi language.
In the upcoming murder mystery, you will see Nikeet Dhillon as Agam Mann, who came from Mansa District to Chandigarh, and then she got involved in many illegal activities and dissolved into the lifestyle of the girls in PG. When dug into more, it has been discovered that it’s not a common and sober place, but a base for drugs and drug-addicted girls.
Nikeet aka Agam also became a victim of drug addiction and she enjoys life. She gets euphoria while consuming the drugs, and her life then gets a surprising twist and turn. Then, after the girls in the PG witness the murder, we see the rude and pitiless police officer, Sawan, aka Gurnaaz. She puts her sweat and blood into solving the unravel mystery. Though she too has some deepest secrets, we will get to know after the series is out.
It is one of the best and most anticipated Punjabi web series, and we can surely feel the hard work behind this Shahi Majra. This never-seen tale will be out only on the Punjabi OTT platform, Chaupal. Not much of Ninja and Babbal Rai's, but we hope, like the intriguing trailer, the makers will give more surprises throughout the series. All we have to wait for is August 12, as the series will be released at 11 AM and we can uncover the solutions, and background stories & secrets.
