As part of ambitious ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign, the District Administration Baramulla in collaboration with various stakeholders today organized a mega event in the auditorium of Govt Degree College for Boys Baramulla, to celebrate the "Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya, Power @2047" programme.

The programme was aimed to showcase the achievements recorded especially in Power and Renewable Energy Sectors. District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Baramulla, Safeena Beigh presided over the program as the chief guest where as Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla Aijaz Abdullah Saraaf participated as the special guest.

At the outset, the chief guest inspected the stalls that were installed by various agencies to showcase and display their services and achievements with special focus on achievements made in the power sector in the last 75 years.

Speaking at the event, the DDC Chairperson complimented the concerned departments for their achievements wherein she underlined the need for achieving saturation in various sponsored schemes and programmes. 

She stressed on the concerned agencies to sensitise the masses at grass roots level so that more and more beneficiaries are covered within the ambit of several sponsored schemes.

Moreover, Safeena Beigh termed the power sector as the vital sector and exhorted to enthuse more vibrancy in the department by strengthening and streamlining their public service delivery mechanism.Meanwhile, an array of cultural events were organised as part of the celebration which evoked quite applause from the audience.
