The Ministry of Power in collaboration with NHPC & JPDCL today celebrated ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ as part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.The Bijli Mahotsav is being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047 and getting across the developments in the power sector for  the welfare of citizens at large.

Chairperson DDC, Reasi Saraf Singh Nag, was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the Bijli Mahotsav by lighting the traditional lamp in presence of Vice chairperson DDC Sajra Qadir; ADDC Jyoti Salathia; Executive Director NHPC Rajan Kumar; CPO Sunita Kanchan and J.C Sarkar head of Salam Power Station.

Highlighting the benefits of electricity and the unprecedented growth achieved by the power sector over the past few years, the chief guest said that the government was doing remarkable work in the power sector.

 “The local administration is implementing several schemes with the help of the central government, and the public is getting benefited” he added. The Students of Government Higher Secondary School Reasi presented Nukkad Natak and a stage performance.
