Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting of stakeholders of various departments to review the preparedness for the holy Kailash Yatra.This was also a follow up of the detailed meeting held by ADC Bhaderwah with officers and various stakeholders and issues emerged in that meeting were threadbare discussed today .

It was informed to the chair by the ADC Bhaderwah that the organisers will commence the arrangements at site / en-route from August 1. Besides, it was also informed that approximately 15-20 thousand Pilgrims are expected to pay obeisance at the holy Kailash Kund this year.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held with regard to facilities requires to be provided enroute at various high end locations which includes smooth path for Yatries, Toilet facility, availability of firewood, electricity, gen sets, deployment of security force.

The DC directed all the concerned officers of line departments to ensure that all the basic essential facilities provided to the Yatries from the day one till the conclusion of Yatra in hassle free manner. 

He further asked them to scale up the facilities as this year the yatra is going to be held after a break of two years due to the outbreak of COVID-19.The DC further directed them to ensure the installation of facilities including restoration facilities before the 31st of July.

Health department was directed to ensure the screening of all Yatries from the take off points and to deploy the teams with all essential medicines and oxygen cylinders well in advance. Besides, ADC Bhaderwah was asked to explore the possibility for installation of CCTVs at the Kailash kund.

Among others present in the meeting were ADC Bhaderwah, ASP Bhaderwah, ACD Doda, AC Panchayat, DFO Bhaderwah,Tehsildar Bhalla, Ex En PHE, Ex En PDD, Ex En BDA, BMO Bhaderwah, and other concerned officials.
