A week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) organised by the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran concluded successfully today. The annual event which was inaugurated by Lt. Col. Kailash Bansal, Director Margdarshan Cell, AICTE, New Delhi saw the participation of more than 100 faculty members drawn from all the departments of the institution including Engineering, Management, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and others. 

The FDP was planned under the theme ‘Innovations, Challenges and Preparedness for the New Education System’. The weeklong event had multipronged objectives. The foremost aim was helping faculty members reinforce their prowess as effective educators who would play a crucial role in helping students harness their capabilities for carving a solid career against the backdrop of a highly competitive and dynamic education system. 

The second objective revolved around enlightening the faculty members on their additional role and responsibilities as administrators, mentors, coaches, innovators and researchers. Additionally, the program proved to be a useful platform for the CGC faculty to brainstorm, discuss, interact with, learn and enhance their understanding of the changes and latest developments in the education sector which are bound to have a crucial impact on their future. 

In addition to the CGC management, a galaxy of experts graced the event as keynote speakers which included Dr. Sanjay Kaushik - Professor, UBS, Panjab University, Dr. PV Rao, Senior Consultant, MGSIPA, Chandigarh, Lt. Gen KJ Singh, PVSM, AVSM & BAR (Veteran), Prof. (Dr.) GD Sharma - Formerly Chairman Yoga Department HPU and Registrar and

Dean Academics University of Patanjali Haridwar, among others. International dignitaries who participated in the FDP included Mr. Tristan Harding, Program Coordinator & Lecturer International College of Hotel Management Adelaide, Australia, Dr. Charlito Penilla Cadag, President, Camarines Sur Polytechnic, Philippines and Dr Andrey Kornilenko, HOD Education, Management, Expertise and Research Center,Moscow, Russia.
