To discuss the rationalization of polling stations/booths post Delimitation in all the three constituencies of district Kishtwar, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ashok Sharma who is also the District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar today convened a meeting with representatives of political parties, here at mini-secretariat.At the outset the DEO gave an insight about the set norms of establishment and re-allocation of Polling stations/Booths.
The DEO asked the political parties to go through the proposed draft of polling stations, which was provided to them and record comments, objections, rectification and suggestions if any, in prescribed time frame.”The polling stations will be created on rational basis keeping in view the convenience of the voters with provision of all essential facilities” the DC assured.
He added that any new proposal that falls within the norms of Election Commission of India (ECI) will be considered and approved.The representatives of political parties also handed over their objection/suggestion lists to DEO Kishtwar for consideration.
Political Parties were also asked to rope in the Booth Level Agents, ground level workers and other stakeholders while rationalising the Polling stations and asked them to submit their proposals and lists of objections, if any through concerned AEROs upto 20 July 2022.Among others present during the meeting were, ADDC, Sham Lal, ACR/Dy DEO, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Officials of District Election Cell, the DYSSO besides other concerned.
