Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today held an  interactive meeting  with heads/representatives of the socio-religious organizations,  prominent persons and concerned district officers here at conference Hall DC office complex Kishtwar and  briefed them about the arrangements put in place for the smooth and hassle free conduct of  Annual Shree Machail Mata Yatra 2022.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Sham Lal; ACR   Varunjeet Singh Charak; SDM/CEO Kishtwar Development Authority Inder Jeet Parihar; ACD Atul Dutt Sharma; DPOSunil Bhutyal; heads/representatives of the socio-religious organizations,  prominent persons and concerned district officers.

During the meeting, the DC, through a PowerPoint Presentation briefed in detail the arrangements put in place by the district Administration to facilitate the pilgrims.During the meeting, valuable  suggestions of the religious and social organisations  heads were also sought for smooth conduct of the annual yatra and all the suggestions were noted down.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that necessary Health and Emergency facilities including medical essentials and other logistics have been put in place at designated health centres established for Yatris.

“Likewise comprehensive plans have been formulated for security arrangements, establishment of additional toilets, temporary shelter Sheds en-route the shrine, uninterrupted Drinking water and power Supply, issuance of langar permissions, provision of sanitation, Traffic and parking management, notification of Bus fare, installation of complaint Boxes, Helicopter facility to make the Yatra of pilgrims safe and smooth” he added.

The Deputy Commissioner also apprised the participants that Hoardings and signages were being installed at designated places with information about the Medicare facility, ATM, Langer and other facilities for the Yatris besides explaining the Dos and Don'ts for Yatris during the Journey.

He further assured the meeting that the restoration work on the Bridges damaged due to swollen Nallah en-route the shrine was in full swing and the same would  be completed by 20th of July 2022.

“SDRF teams have been deployed at identified vulnerable places to tackle any eventuality during the Yatra time. Besides necessary directions have been given to the enforcement agencies to ensure the implementation of instructions at langar places and following of COVID Appropriate Behaviours during Yatra time,” he said.

The district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make the Yatra a grand success in view of the high turnout this year after 3 years of Covid break, he said.The representatives and heads of socio-religious organisations sought the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner to bring the religious places of District Kishtwar on the tourism map so that the Tourism potential of these unexplored tourism destinations are fully tapped to boost the  local economy.

He assured them that necessary and concrete steps will be taken in this regard.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to Yatris to maintain religious sanctity and protect the serene and fragile ecology of the area which is the integral part of pilgrimage during Yatra time by following all instructions of Govt.
