To redress the grievances of people at their door steps, a series of Public outreach programmes were held today at different places of district Kishtwar under weekly Block Diwas imitative of the Government.
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ashok Sharma, chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at Panchayat Dool-A of Block Nagseni.The programme was attended by DPO, Sunil Bhutyal; DSWO, Zubair Ahmed; ALC Amit Kumar; BDO Nagseni, Anjil Singh; Xen Jal Shakti, Ajay Talwar, Xen PMGSY, Mohinder Sen; XEn PWD, Ravinder Kumar; ZEO Nagseni, Nizamuddin; Sarpanch Dool-A Safoora Begum, Panches besides field functionaries of different departments.
During the programme, the locals and PRIs of Dool and adjoining Panchayats projected different grievances/demands pertaining to their respective areas including up-gradation of local Infrastructure, road connectivity, Land compensation, ATM at Dool, addressing the problem of Water scarcity, repair of Hand pumps and Skill Development programme for youth etc.
The DDC Kishtwar listened to the grievances of the people patiently and resolved many issues on the spot. Face to face deliberations with the concerned officers were held to ensure timely disposal of genuine issues/grievances of the people.
Responding to the issue of repair of Hand pumps in the Panchayat, the DDC informed the people that adequate funds have been kept in the current district Capex for the purpose. He assured them that all the hand pumps would be repaired in a time bound manner.
Besides, the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti was directed to take PRIs on board to frame a comprehensive water distribution Plan under Jal Jeevan Mission to saturate all the households with tap water under the JJM schemes.
The DDC urged PRIs and concerned officers to monitor the implementation of the JJM schemes to facilitate percolation of benefits down to the ground level in an effective and transparent manner. He further instructed the concerned officers to regularise the water connections in the panchayats for proper and judicious distribution of water.
Meanwhile, the functionaries of Rural Development Department (RDD) were asked to complete the allotment and tendering process in these Panchayats so that the dedicated works under MGNREGA and Area Development Plan are completed well in time.
Necessary directions were also given to Xen PWD and Xen PMGSY to take up the matter of the Black topping of Bhattpora Road and payment of land compensation of Gujjar Basti Road and resolve it on priority.
The DDC appealed to people to keep close vigil on their wards to save them from falling prey to the drug-addiction and channelise the energy of youth in a positive direction. He also solicited the farmers and orchardists to avail the agriculture and agri-allied sector Schemes meant to redouble their income.
Responding to the demand for Skill Development of Youth, the DPO informed that the Panchayat secretaries have been mandated to enroll the eligible local youth for the skill Development programmes.
The DDC asked DPO Kishtwar to ensure that all the eligible and the desirous youth are enrolled under the programme to equip them with necessary skills. and made them eligible for Employment in different sectors including HEP projects.
On the occasion, the ALC educated the youth about various Self-Employment and Livelihood Mission schemes and asked them to avail the benefits of the same.Similar block Diwas programme was also organised at Sohal Paddar under the chairmanship of SDM, Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma. A number of grievances/issues of local nature were listened to and redressed on spot by passing necessary directions to the concerned officers.
Tehsildar Paddar Rohit Kumar, BDO Paddar Ravi Kumar, BMO Paddar Dr Anil Sharma, ZEO Paddar Sri Krishan ,Sarpanch Sohal Rajinder Singh Chouhan besides panches and locals attended the Block Diwas programme there.
