It has been reported that the nation's anti-drugs bureau has accused actress Rhea Chakraborty of purchasing drugs for her late actor partner Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away in 2020. She and 34 other people were charged in the well-publicised case by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), according to the charge sheet.
The 30-year-old actress is accused of funding the purchase of a minor amount of marijuana. Showik Chakraborty, her brother, is also listed as a defendant. According to the NCB, she gave Sushant Singh marijuana after receiving it. They said that she paid for it at his request as well. Reportedly, Rhea Chakraborty could spend more than ten years in prison if found guilty.
The accusations against her have been dubbed a "witch-hunt" by the actress. She acknowledged that Sushant Singh Rajput smoked marijuana in an interview with renowned news portal, but she denied using narcotics or aiding in their acquisition.
