J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today held a colourful devotional programme at Bhagwati Nagar here as part of series of events being held at various resting places of pilgrims / devotees coming for Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

The programme was witnessed by a large gathering of devotees from across the nook and corner of the country and evoked thundering applause from the audience who were mesmerized by devotional songs and bhajans performed on the occasion.

Giving details about the programme series, Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh said that the purpose of such programmes is to enrich the experience of the visiting devotees.“The purpose is to enrich their (devotees’) living experience and also to introduce them to the rich cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Elucidating further, Singh said that such cultural events would continue to be held throughout the yatra period, purpose of which is to enrich the experience of the devotees by means of devotional songs and bhajans.

Among others, the inaugural series of the programme was witnessed by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Special Secretary Culture Department, Trishala Kumari; Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Satish Sharma and Cultural Officer, JKAACL, Dr. Shahnawaz.
