Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur Amrit Singh IAS said that skill courses would be conducted in the district as per the demand of the industry so that the youth could get better employment opportunities. She was addressing a meeting of District Skill Committee and Governing Council at District Administrative Complex here today. 

The Deputy Commissioner got information about the issue of Skill Gap and demand for Skills in the district from members of Industries and District Skills Committee and Governing Council and Instructed PSDM to run various skill courses in the district as per this demand. 

She urged the industries to become training partners themselves and conduct free courses in their own industry as per their demand and said that all the expenses in this regard would be borne by the Punjab Skill Development Mission. 

Apart from this the Deputy Commissioner directed the District Education Officer to share the details of 10th to 12th drop-out children with the Skill Development Mission so that they could participate in the skill courses starting next month. 

The District Industries Center, ITI, Polytechnic College was directed to register as many industry and needy candidates as possible on the National Apprenticeship Portal.Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Gagandeep Singh Virk while interacting with the members of District Skill Committee and Governing Council urged to extend the services of District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises and Punjab Skill Development Mission to all corners of the district.

Mr. Gurjant Singh, Placement Officer, Mr. Sarabjit Singh, Mission Manager and Mr. Navdeep Asija, Manager, Training and Placement briefed the present members about the ongoing schemes under District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises and Punjab Skill Development Mission.
