The upcoming Bollywood film JugJugg Jeeyo, starring Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Prajakta Koli, and Manish Paul in the leading roles, has been making headlines ever since it was announced. Now, before the release date, the makers have landed in legal trouble.

According to several media reports, a Ranchi-based writer named Vishal Singh has filed a copyright lawsuit against the producers. The matter has been investigated by the local Ranchi court, and a screening of the film has been scheduled. Jugjugg Jeeyo is directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta.

Speaking of the team, they have left no stone unturned to impress their fans with the promotion. The film is scheduled to be released on June 24, but before its release, the film will be having a screening in court.

Further, Singh alleged that the subject of his story 'Punny Rani' was exploited in the film without his permission, and he requested a stay of execution. He also requested Rs 1.5 crore in compensation. Judge M C Jha will continue the arguments after the court viewing and decide if the video breaches the copyright Act or not.

Meanwhile, Varun and Kiara, the film's main actors, were recently seen promoting their film while riding the Mumbai Metro's new segment. They were eating vada pav on the ride, and netizens mocked them mercilessly for breaking the law.
