Joint secretary, Department of Science and Technology GoI, Sunil Kumar today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the arrangements for celebration of International Day of Yoga 2022 at Suchetgarh Border Post.Threadbare discussions were held on finalization of Venue, Registration of Participants, besides provision of logistic arrangements, Drinking water, medical facilities and erection of LED screens backdrop Hoardings, Sinages etc.

The Joint Secretary said that the purpose of celebrating the International Yoga day was to raise awareness among the people about the benefits of yoga in dealing with the stress of modern day life. 

He said that the event was being organized at Suchetgarh border post to highlight and promote the historical background of the place.While finalizing the arrangements, he asked the concerned officers to work in tandem for the smooth celebration of the day at the historical venue. Sunil Kumar also asked the concerned officers to give wide publicity to the event and mobilize people to ensure maximum public participation.Officers who attended the meeting included  DIG BSF, ADDC, Jammu, Director School Education Jammu, Joint Director Information Jammu, Director Doordarshan Jammu,  Director Fire services, Executive Engineer PWD, Jal Shakti Department and other officials of various departments.
