As we are aware of the facts, consecutively many films in Bollywood are failing at the box office. After knowing all these effects, the makers have the courage to film remakes from the South. And adding to the list, recently Abhimanyu Dasani, Shirley Setia, and Shilpa Shetty starring Nikamma have made their way to big screens. Directed by Sabbir Khan, Nikamma is based on the 2017 Telugu film, Middle-Class Abbayi. It marks singer Shirley's Bollywood debut and Shilpa’s comeback to Bollywood after 14 years.

The film opened to terrible reviews, with most of the critics calling it unbearable and the worst film of the year. The early box office reports say that it would be a miracle if Nikamma managed to collect even Rs 25 lakhs on its opening day. This is among the most disastrous openings ever for any Hindi movie in recent times.
The title ‘Nikamma’ has lived up to its box office. The movie is an adaptation of Nani's 2017 film Middle-Class Abbayi and was a superhit in Telugu. Till now, the film has reached only half a crore and the film showed better occupancy in mass centers than in metros.
The reviews suggest that Sabbir Khan's film is an unbearable watch that gets almost nothing right, including lead pair Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia's chemistry. Shilpa Shetty is the one saving grace here.
