Delhi Police said the situation is now under control:
Delhi Police says that people protested at Jama Masjid against the statements of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma and expelled BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal. We have removed people from there. The situation is now under control.
Around 300 people came out and raised slogans against Nupur Sharma :
DCP Central Shweta Chauhan said that today about 1500 people had reached Jama Masjid for Friday prayers. After the prayer, around 300 people came out and started raising slogans against Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. We brought the situation under control within 10-15 minutes. This protest was done on the road, that too without permission, so action will be taken against the protesters.
Muslim community seeks arrest of Nupur Sharma :
Nupur Sharma is accused of making objectionable remarks on Prophet Mohammad. Due to this, BJP took action against him, but the people of the Muslim community say that Nupur Sharma should be arrested. An FIR has also been registered against Nupur Sharma in Delhi.
