Special walk-in drive organised for Golden Card registration for SMC workers

Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Commissioner, Athar Aamir Khan today inaugurated a Special walk-in registration drive for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme for SMC Sanitation workers/officers at SMC office Karan Nagar. Chief Executive Officer Ayushman Bharat, Ayushi Sudan, State Nodal Officer (SHA) Sanam Mansoor and other officers were also present on the occasion.The registration drive is being organised by State Health Agency (SHA) in collaboration with SMC and is aimed to bring every sanitation worker of SMC under health care safety net. 

The registration drive will run from June 1st upto 6th June during which the sanitation workers will avail golden card.Commissioner SMC while inaugurating the drive urged the sanitation workers/officers to come forward and avail the golden card to get cashless healthcare access.Emphasising the need for IEC activities, Commissioner directed the concerned to create mass awareness among the workers so that more and more people get registered for SEHAT scheme.He also urged the ward officers to ensure that no sanitation worker is left without golden card during the Special drive so that they are entitled to the benefits of Golden Card. Ayushi Sudan while speaking on the occasion said that the department will continue to organise special drives in future till every citizen is covered under this scheme.

She exhorted upon the officers to work on a mission mode to enrol maximum beneficiaries to achieve cent percent target.The (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme is the world’s largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the government. This scheme provides a cover of Rs 500,000 per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. This ambitious health insurance scheme enables all residents of Jammu and Kashmir including employees and pensioners as well as their families to avail cashless quality health care services across public and private empanelled hospitals.The scheme envisions to mitigate expenditure on medical treatment to all the residents of Jammu & Kashmir. It covers up to 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalisation expenses such as diagnostics and medicines. There is no restriction on the family size, age or gender. All pre-existing conditions are covered from day one.
