When Akshay Kumar endorsed a pan masala brand a few weeks ago, it caused quite a stir. The actor was hammered to the point of having to apologise publicly for his involvement with the brand. But recently it seems like some celebrities have landed into trouble for featuring in ads that promote tobacco-based products or gutka. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgan have all been slammed for these commercials. While Big B pulled out of a pan masala ad and Akshay Kumar stood down as a brand ambassador for a tobacco firm, it appears that some of these actors are now in legal problems.

Tamanna Hashmi, a Muzaffarpur-based activist, has filed a lawsuit under sections 467, 468, 439, and 120B against SRK, Ajay, Ranveer, and Big B. "Misusing their notoriety for the sole purpose of promoting gutka for financial gain," the charging document continues. The court has accepted the lawsuit, which will be heard on May 27. Amitabh Bachchan's contract with a chewing tobacco company expired in October 2021. Bachchan's office issued a statement claiming that he was unaware of a few specifics. 7. The statement read, "When Mr Bachchan became associated with the brand, he wasn’t aware it falls under surrogate advertising.

Now, he has terminated the contract with the brand, has written to them about his termination, and has returned the money received for the promotion." Meanwhile, a couple of days ago, a Twitter user had wrongly tagged Suniel Shetty instead of Ajay Devgn while criticising Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar for promoting a tobacco brand. Shetty’s hilarious reply has won the hearts of the netizens. If you haven't read the news. Click the link
