The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today visited Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara and reviewed health facilities being provided to the patients there. He also took stock of the preparations made for smooth conduct of the mega health camp which started on May 11 in the hospital and will last till May 18. The DC inspected various wards including OPD, IPD, Operation Theatre and Gynaecological section, during which he interacted with Medical Superintendent (MS), Doctors, paramedics and patients and received feedback regarding the facilities.He urged upon the Medical Superintendent to further upgrade the facilities so that the patients do not face any inconvenience during their treatment. He directed them to keep round the clock facilities available to the patients of border district Kupwara.

 While assessing the preparations for on-going Mega Health camp, the DC was informed that all possible measures have been put in place for the smooth conduct of the camp. He was informed that the Health department, Divisional Administration and Rotary International (NGO) has jointly organized the mega health camp for the general public of Kupwara district.He was further informed that 54 surgeries have been conducted during the first day of the camp which includes 26 ophthalmic, 14 Gynae and 14 general surgeries. Speaking at the occasion, the DC said that the health sector is among the top most priorities of the Government and District Administration is committed to provide all possible support to boost the health facilities in the district.
