The Vigilance Bureau arrested Assistant Sub-inspector(ASI) Major Singh of the accused in a corruption case. Gurprert Lalli, the other accused, is on the run.Posted in Sirhind police station Major Singh the accused ASI was arrested in connection with registering against a private typist and police officer for allegedly taking bribe from Bhallmajra village based farmer in Fatehgarh Sahib. The case was registere on April 22 on the complaint of Harbans Singh a farmer who allegedly paid 50000 rupees to Major Singh after he was tbreatened to have a murder case registered against him.
Habans Singh had taken an injured person to the hospital but the man had succumbed to the injuries. The other accused a private typist named Gurpreet Singb Lali, was involved in the crime, who also demanded 10000 from Harbans Singh. On getting humiliation by the accused Harbans put the audio/visual recordings on the anti corruption numbers launched by the CM Mann, action was taken post investigational procedures.
