In a bid to provide transparent, effective and responsive Policing services to people ‘Samaadhan’ launched by district Police Kapurthala has emerged as single point facilitation centre for people to get their Policing related works done. This out of the box initiative, a brainchild of the Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Harish Dayama, is amalgamation of ‘Samaadhan helpline’ and ‘Samaadhan centre’. Samaadhan Helpline helps people in getting prompt information about their pending complaints and queries with the Police department. Any person can call the helpline numbers 9041922168 and 01822292006 during the working hours and get the status of their pending complaints and queries. This helpline enables a citizen to avail the status of their pending complaints in a smooth and hassle free manner just by dialling these numbers without running pillar to post in Police stations or high offices.

Similarly, the Samaadhan centre helps people to directly get help of Police by reaching at their centre in a transparent manner without help of any middleman. At Samaadhan centre any person can approach the Police by just getting a token at the entry after which they are directed to specially created help desk supervised by an Inspector rank officer. The Inspector rank officer hear the complaint of person and then accordingly refer it to other desks set at same place for various crimes. After that a Police personnel designated as felicitation officer from related help desk takes it to the concerned high officer (Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and above) for the suitable action.  This enables on the spot hearing and resolution of the aggrieved people without any sort of inconvenience. The complainant is free from the entire procedure within 15-20 minutes after which he is given acknowledgment receipt mentioning the date of his visit, complaint and future hearing, if any.

Thus the Samaadhan mechanism enables a citizen to get his problems redressed without dependence on anybody. The Samaadhan thereby saves time, money and energy of people by facilitating them through on the spot redressal of their grievances on the spot. This first of its kind initiative gives huge relief to people by ensuring transparent, effective and responsive policing to them.Meanwhile, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that Kapurthala Police is committed for the well being of the people of the district and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause. Mr Harish Dayama said that ‘Samaadhan’ scheme is a citizen centric initiative which is a step forward towards realising this motto only. Soliciting support of people, he said that public should also play a proactive role in making Kapurthala- a crime free distric
