The District Election Officer (DEO)-  Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today visited  Lolab sub division and presided over a Voter Literacy Camp at Rest House Chandigam.SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat; Dy. DEO Kupwara, Shabir Ahmad Wani; Tehsildar Kupwara, BLOs of Tehsil Sogam and employees, besides, school children attended the day long awareness programme.

Speaking at the occasion, the DEO said that the Youth have the power to change their future by choosing the right candidate by virtue of right to vote adding that the voter’s literacy is prerequisite for a healthy electoral process in a democratic country.He appealed to the youth attaining the age of Right to Vote to register themselves with the concerned BLOs for their enrollment in electoral rolls.The Dy. DEO also spoke on the occasion.Other officers and speakers also spoke and provided detailed awareness to the participants about the importance of voter literacy.Earlier, a quiz programme was also held in which the school children participated.
