The District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited Reddi Chowkibal and presided over a Voter Literacy Camp at Rest House, Chowkibal.Dy. DEO Kupwara, Shabir Ahmad Wani, AERO Kralpora, BLOs of Tehsil Kralpora and employees, besides, school children attended the day long awareness programme.Speaking at the occasion, the DEO said that the Youth have the power to change their future by choosing the right candidate by virtue of right to vote adding that the voter’s literacy is prerequisite for a healthy electoral process in a democratic country.He appealed to the youth attaining the age of Right to Vote to register themselves with the concerned BLOs for their enrollment in electoral rolls.

The Dy. DEO in his address appealed the youth to participate enthusiastically in the electoral process adding that it is the constitutional right of every citizen attaining voting rights to exercise their right to vote irrespective of caste, creed, colour, sex, religion and region.Other officers and speakers also spoke and provided detailed awareness to the participants about the importance of voter literacy.Earlier, a quiz programme was also held in which the school children participated.Meanwhile, the DEO awarded the first 3 top positions of the quiz programme with appreciation certificates and cash award of Rs.1500, Rs.1200 and Rs.1000 respectively.
