The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for upcoming festivals of Annual Maha Shivratri and Shab-i-Mehraj in the district. Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure fool proof arrangements in the shrines/mosques expecting a huge congregation of devotees during the upcoming festivals in the district.  The DC directed the concerned officers for conduct of joint market checking to check profiteering/ black marketing of essential commodities by traders. The Executive Engineers of PDD/Jal Shakti were directed to ensure availability of uninterrupted power and water supply at all shrines/ mosques where huge congregations will be held. Other arrangements including security arrangements, deployment of magistrates, cleanliness drive and availability of essential commodities, medi-care and test kits, fire tenders, besides, availability of transport were also discussed and directions were passed to the concerned officers for ensuring the required facilities.
