Polling process for Punjab assembly elections 2022 in district kapurthala was completed peacefully and free and fair manner , in which 65.7 % people used their democratic rights.Out of total votes 627259 , the district witnessed polling of 412342 votes.The Phgawara assembly constituency recorded 63.3 % voting, Bholtah 65 % , sultanpur lodhi 71.3 % and kapurthala have 64.1 % polling.District electoral officer kapurthala Mrs Deepti Uppal today cast her vote at polling booth no 132 in kapurthala. She also facilitate the first time voters in the age group of 18 to 19.

To encourage the voters Pink booths and Model polling stations were the star attraction where all women employees were deputed who wears pink clothes to send the message of women empowerment.On model polling stations , voters gets rousing welcome with flowers, beating of Dhol . Besides that voters above the 80 years gets transportation facility to cast their vote.District electoral officer also clicks selfie with " Shera" to encourage the young voters to cast their vote.While thanking the people for larger participation in polling process DEO also praised the role played by the officials and employees besides security forces .
