Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that "we got freedom due to the hard struggle of our great freedom fighters, while our freedom was safe due to the brave soldiers guarded the country's borders with impunity day and night and today the whole country is indebted to them".Sh. Vij was addressing the people present as the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations held in Karnal today. On this occasion, he unfurled the national flag and took the salute of the parade. The contingents of Haryana Police, Women Police, Home Guard and NCC Army Wing, NCC Air Wing and Bharat Scouts and Guides participated in the parade. Earlier, the chief guest paid homage to the martyrs by paying floral tributes at the war memorial. On this occasion, the Home Minister announced a prize money of Rs.51-51 thousand to all the six teams presenting cultural programs.

Home Minister Anil Vij, in his message to the people of the district on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations, said that the Indian Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950. Due to the constitution, everyone, big or small, rich and poor, got the right to justice, liberty and equality. For this, he bowed down to all the members of the Constituent Assembly, including Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He said that Republic Day is associated with a long glorious saga of sacrifice of our patriots. Many freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar Azad and Udham Singh fought a long struggle to get freedom for the country. Heroes of Haryana have played an important role in the freedom struggle. Even today the youth of Haryana consider it their pride to join the army. This is the reason that today every tenth soldier of the Indian Army is from Haryana.
*Increased ex-gratia amount from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for soldiers and paramilitary soldiers of Haryana martyred during the war- Vij*
Sh. Anil Vij further said that the ex-gratia amount of soldiers and paramilitary personnel of Haryana who were martyred during the war has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. The ex-gratia of soldiers and para-military forces personnel injured during war or encounter with terrorists or any other incident has been increased to Rs.35 lakh, Rs.25 lakh and Rs.15 lakh respectively on the basis of disability. The government has decided to form integrated Sainik Sadans in eight districts for the welfare of soldiers. These will cost around Rs 100 crore.He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government took many such decisions in the last nearly eight years, which not only changed the image in the world but also made us recognized as a powerful country. The Central Government has taken many historic steps, including the removal of Article 370 and Section 35-A from Jammu and Kashmir, the Citizenship Amendment Act, banning triple talaq, starting the construction of a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. He said that the present government under the leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal was trying to ensure equitable development of every region of the state on the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. The state government has taken many unique initiatives. These include government jobs to the youth on the basis of merit, online transfer of employees, ration, pension, stipends, closing the fraud in subsidy etc.
*India ranks first in the world in vaccinations being done to fight the covid pendemic- Vij*
He said that the covid-19 pendemic has emerged as a big challenge for the whole world. India ranks first in the world in vaccination being done to fight this. In Haryana also vaccination is being done on a war footing. The first dose has been administered to 100% of the people above the age of eighteen years and the second dose to 79 percent of the people. At the same time, children in the age group of 15 to 18 years are also being vaccinated. Under this, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to about 8 lakh children. Along with this, booster doses have also been administered to about 56 thousand people. Treatment and vaccination of all corona patients in the state is being done free of cost.
*A Provision of financial assistance of two lakh rupees in case of death of an earning member of the family due to corona- Vij*
The Home Minister said that A provision in BPL of financial assistance of two lakh rupees has been made on the death of the earning member of the families due to corona. Under the 'Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana', a monthly assistance of Rs 2500 per child is being given for the rehabilitation and assistance of children orphaned due to the covid-19. He said that a total of 67 new government colleges have been opened in the state in the last seven and a half years, out of which 42 are for girls. Apart from this, 29 women industrial training institutes have also been established in the state. A stipend of Rs 500 per month is being given to the girls studying in ITI.
*Started the facility of 'Single Registration' - Vij*
Sh. Anil Vij said that the facility of 'Single Registration' has been started to get rid of youth from repeatedly applying for jobs and paying fees. A provision of 'Common Eligibility Test' has been made to get rid of the competitive examination again and again. Haryana Skill Employment Corporation has been formed to stop the contract system in outsourcing related government services in the state. For the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the state, separate MSMEs will be established. He said that the players of the state have brought laurels to the country and the state by winning medals in Olympics and other international competitions. All this is a result of the hard work and dedication of our players and the sports policy of the government. Out of total 7 medals in Tokyo Olympics, 3 medals have been won by Haryana players. We have two players in the team that won the bronze medal in hockey. In the women's hockey team, there are 9 players from Haryana, who have won the hearts of everyone with their strength and skills.
*Significant improvement in the rate of sex ratio at birth in the state as a result of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' program- Vij*
The Home Minister said that the state government is committed to women's safety and empowerment. As a result of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' programme, there has been a significant improvement in the sex ratio at birth in the state. For the safety of women, Mahila Helpline-1091 and Durga Shakti App, Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force and Durga Shakti Vahini have been established. To deal with crimes against women, 31 new women police stations have been set up in the state. The State Government is determined to increase the strength of women police personnel to 15 percent in Haryana Police. Apart from this, Dial 112 facility has been started to help the people, which is showing positive results. Under this, the needy is getting police assistance in just 17 minutes.
