National Tourism Day was observed today at Kupwara with an impressive function organized at TRC Kupwara under proper Covid protocol.Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din presided over the function while, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat who is also Chief Executive Officer Lolab, Bangus, Drangyari Development Authorities and other concerned officers were present at the occasion.Speaking at the occasion, the DC highlighted the objectives of observing National Tourism Day and said that tourism is the backbone of the economy of every society. He said Kupwara district has a vast tourism potential which needs to be explored.

He stressed upon the concerned officers to put all possible efforts to boost the tourism potential across the district which has a vast range from main tourism to border tourism, pilgrim tourism, sports tourism and adventure tourism.On the occasion, the DC had a discussion with the concerned officers to explore different ways for boosting tourism activities in the district.Earlier, the CEO also spoke on the occasion and gave the description of the tourism activities being carried out in the district. He said the Bangus valley in Kupwara district is a natural tourist resort which will be the world tourist destination for national and international tourists in years to come.
