BJP has sent a memorandum to the president of india through the Governor of Himachal Rajender Arlekar in regard of the security lapse that took place in Punjab on th 5th of January 2022.The delegation was led by Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, he was accompanied by State BJP President Suresh Kashyap, General Secretary Trilok Jamwal, Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Rajeev Sehgal and Ram Lal Markandey.BJP State President Suresh Kashyap Said the Punjab State police was instructed not to allow party workers from reaching the rally site at Ferozepur where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to lay foundation stones of development projects.PM Modi, who landed in Punjab’s Bathinda and had to take the road route to Hussainiwala in Ferozepur because of inclement weather, was stuck on a flyover for 15-20 minutes due to a blockade by some farmers, an incident the state president described as a "major lapse" in his security."There is no democracy left in Punjab", he said.Chief Minister Jairam Thakur Said our country has witnessed an unprecedented situation.

The kind of glaring and shocking lapse that occurred in our Prime Minister Narendra Modi security in Punjab is highly shocking and deplorable, the country has never faced such situation neither during the worst of terrorism days nor in terror-affected areas. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been repeatedly saying that the Congress party and its leaders hate Honourable Shri Narendra Modi ji, but they have no right to hate and demean the Prime Minister who belongs to the entire country.

He said There is a set protocol for the security of the Prime Minister. But a deliberate lapse, a mockery has been made in the Congress- ruled Punjab with the security protocols of the Prime Minister of our country.

He said When the attempt was made to block the entire cavalcade of the Prime Minister , and for full 20 minutes his security was breached; how did those responsible for the serious breach of safety and security arrangements managed to reach the cars in the Prime Minister's cavalcade? He added The information of the movement of the Prime Minister of the country is not available to anyone accept for those involved in the Prime Minister's security, this is a well known fact and everyone knows about it. Now the Congress party and its government in Punjab will have to answer who sent the agitators on the Prime Minister's route thus causing serious breach in the safety and security of the Prime Minister of the country?
