The Disaster Preparedness Training was today organized by the Civil Defense and SDRF Pulwama in collaboration with NSS Unit, Dept. of Environmental Science & Disaster Management of the College at Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama.The programme was inaugurated by Principal GDC, Professor Mushtaq Ahmad Lone.Trainers from CD and SDRF, Ghulam Nabi and Shabir Ahmad Pala imparted the training under the guidance of Ghulam Rasool I/c Civil Defence and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat I/c SDRF.Dr Abdul Qayoom Mir, HOD Environmental Science; Dr Sami Ullah Qadir, Faculty Environmental Science and Wassem Ahmad Bhat, Faculty Disaster Management coordinated the disaster management training on behalf of the College.The training programme was attended by the Faculty members, NSS Volunteers and a large number of girl students of the College. Practical demonstrations and mock drills were also held on the occasion, which included Fire-fighting, First-Aid, Search & Rescue and basics of Disaster Mitigation.
