The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani today visited Pinjoora, Shopian and distributed 12 Motorised Tricycles, 9 Hearing-Aids and 2 Wheel Chairs among the specially abled persons.The ADC called for a collective approach to redress the grievances of persons with disabilities on priority with empathetic approach.He was addressing at Pinjoora of the district Shopian on empowerment of persons with disabilities. The disabled persons highlighted several issues confronting them and also pointed to the problems faced by students with disabilities in seeking standard assistive and supportive devices, travel allowance, scribe in examinations and provision of special educators and proper functioning of resource rooms.Among others, District Social Welfare Officer, Mohammad Rizwan, Officers/Officials and other district officers were also present on the occasion.
